Agency History

Established in 1987, Dominick Huckabee Noblin & Trent (DHN&T) has grown to a full service insurance agency. From our beginning in Durham, we have enjoyed a steady growth over the years and have become recognized as one of the leading insurance agencies in our area. We have earned our reputation for professionalism due to the special attention given to the needs, requirements, and details of our clients.

John Dominick, Jim Huckabee, Buck Noblin and Bertha Gentry formed Dominick Huckabee Noblin Insurance Agency, Inc. in April 1987. In June of 1989, Tom Trent joined the agency and the agency began doing business as: Dominick Huckabee Noblin & Trent Insurance Agency. Jerry Teague joined the agency in December of 1989. In July of 1999, DHN&T acquired Booth Insurance Agency.

Today, Dominick Huckabee Noblin & Trent serves the insurance needs of over 5,000 individuals and families and serves the insurance needs of over 500 business concerns in Durham, Chapel Hill, Raleigh and the surrounding area. DNH&T has grown from a startup operation in 1987 to a successful, multiple-line independent agency in 2000. The agency is a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina.
